This is the summery of what we studied Tuesday morning, September 29th. We were reminded of the value of persistence in prayer. We saw the faulty of exalting yourself to God, and the wisdom of maintaining a humble heart before God. Jesus welcomed children and a blind man even though the apostles or the crowds were trying to prevent them from coming to Jesus. And, Jesus got to the heart of the rich young ruler who valued his earthly riches more than the promise of eternal riches. Luke 18 is a treasure of instruction and encouragement. I hope that this blog will give all us ladies the opportunity to continue to converse about what the Lord has taught us in Luke 18. Please post your thoughts, ask questions, respond, etc… I hope that this can be an interactive time for all our ladies. Blessings.
Welcome Ladies of NCCF!
We are currently studying the book of Luke every Tuesday morning 9:30-11:30.
We use Elizabeth George’s study guide for Luke, Living with Passion and Purpose.
This Tuesday, September 29th, we will be studying Chapter 18.
I hope you can join us, and if you cannot…come here to this blog and join our discussion.
Last week we enjoyed studying Luke 17.
The chapter took us into a discussion on Forgiveness.
We found it interesting to note that Jesus first directed his disciples to
Look to themselves, to consider their own sin.
He encouraged them to be prepared to rebuke a brother who is in sin,
but most importantly, He reminded them that we need to forgive our brother as often as he repents…without limit.
We agreed that these instructions certainly apply to us, disciples of Christ in this generation.
What has the Lord shown you in your studies of Luke 17?
Marc Scibilia spent a week in September 2009 at NCCF. A talented singer / songwriter, Marc was introduced to us by the guys in Unspoken and we became fast friends. To get the scoop on Marc, visit his site:
Marc played at our monthly men’s gathering on Friday, led us in worship on Sunday and played a spirited set to a pretty full house on the following Tuesday. Shannon Lee was able to obtain a press pass and got us these shots of the artist.
